Each year, we are preparing a special event for our owners to enable them to meet and share a nice and unforgettable experience : the Owners Flotilla! This is a unique moment to enjoy sailing and exchange with other owners within our yacht management program as well as with their Owner Care Team. The concept is simple : each owner books a yacht for one week, for a destination and dates chosen in advance by our Owner Care Team, up to a maximum of 12 boats. The sailing itinerary has been specially set up for our owners - and thus different from a standard flotilla - by our skilled base team. The owners will have the company of a lead boat, on which will be their Owner care Team as well as an experienced skipper, a technician and a hostess, all dedicated to them for the whole week !
Each morning, the boat captains receive a briefing of the day, indicating the meeting place for the end of day but everyone is free to sail at their own rythm. In the evenings, all the boats are moored together in the same place and owners are free to join the group meal if they wish. During this week of charter, special activities are proposed (visit to particular local places, punch party, cocktail and poem competition, dinghy race, farewell party with gifts, etc.) The aim is to have everyone meet together, enjoy sailing, discover particular sailing areas, experience boat group meetings, find unexpected friendships and hopefully wish to join the next Owners Flotilla !This year, we decided to go to our wonderful base of Dubrovnik, Croatia. The Sunsail Owners Flotilla took place from June 3 – 10, 2018. The group of 8 boats were delightfully welcomed and lead by our incredible skipper Keith Harvey who is the Dubrovnik Base Manager!
A typical day on the Sunsail Owners Flotilla : a daily briefing at 9am, recommended lunch stops, weather forecasts, recommended shops, bars, restaurants, assistance from our lead crew with depature and arrival, free sailing, social evening activities.
More specifically, we enjoyed the following day by day activities :
- Day 1 – Dubrovnik : lead crew meet & greet – technical briefing of the boats
- Day 2 – Okuklje (Miljet Island) : group breakfast offered by the base, welcome briefing, Gin & Tonic party, group meal
- Day 3 – Zaklopatica (Lastovo Island) : morning briefing, evening group meal
- Day 4 – Trstenik (Peljesac) : morning briefing, dinghy race ; free sail brief and free night
- Day 5 : Free Sailing day
- Day 6 – Ston (Peljesac) : cocktail competition, evening group meal
- Day 7 - Dubrovnik : morning briefing, regatta, poem competition and prize giving with Gin & Tonics
This event is a way to enjoy the perfect balance of freedom and support, whislt socializing and exploring !
The best recognition that our owners are really happy with the Owners Flotilla is to receive the following comment :

It was also great to meet up with some old friends from last year and make new ones too on the owners flotilla. We left with so many happy memories. You can count us in again for next year!
Croatia is such a beautiful country and the carefully chosen destinations that Keith selected and guided us to and interesting sailing legs, created a truly excellent holiday. Croatia really does have a garden of treasures and Keith's encyclopedic knowledge of what's round every corner made for such an enjoyable week. To add even more interest to our holiday we were as you were aware able to do some great walks.
